Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actor from Manama, Bahrain and was raised in a multi-ethnic family. Her parents are Malaysian and Sri Lankan. Her father Elroy Fernandez comes from Sri Lanka. There are two brothers as well as one older sister. The 80s were the time when her parents emigrated to Bahrain because of civil war on Sri Lanka. As a result, she was both born and raised there. After completing high school in Bahrain she won a Scholarship at the University of Sydney to pursue a Media and Communications Degree in Sydney, Australia. An avid lover of different cultures as well as languages, she enrolled in Berlitz Language School in which she studied Spanish as well as enhancing her French and Arabic. She was also crowned Miss Sri Lanka 2006 for Miss Universe 2006 on March 6th of 2006, and then competed at Miss Universe 2006. As a result of winning Miss Sri Lanka in 2006 Padukone started her career on television. She was the host of the program Lanka Business Report which focused on the business of Sri Lanka. Padukone has a daughter with the famous badminton player Prakash Padukone. She was born in Bangalore and was born in Copenhagen. When she was a teenager she played in national level badminton tournaments. She later resigned from the sport and became a fashion designer. Padukone's mother tongue is Konkani. She is Mangalorean from her birthplace. Padukone is located within the Kundapura Taluk of Karnataka's Udupi District. Her father, Prakash Padukone, is an international champion in badminton who has now retired. The mother of the child is a traveling agent.
